Queen Elisabeth II celebrates a discreet and confined 94th birthday

Queen Elisabeth II is celebrating her 94th spring Tuesday without her family or the traditional rounds of honors, which she considers inappropriate in the midst of a pandemic of new coronavirus, which has killed more than 16,000 people in the United Kingdom.
The sovereign is at Windsor Castle with her husband Philip, 98, but spends her birthday without being joined by members of the royal family, in accordance with the instructions of her government.
The latter, however, marked the occasion on social networks, starting with his eldest son Prince Charles, who tweeted a series of photos. On the oldest of them, the heir to the crown appears as a chubby baby behind the wooden bars of his playpen, under the enveloping gaze of his mother.
Prince Charles, 72, was hit by Covid-19 himself, but unlike Prime Minister Boris Johnson, suffered only from a mild form of the disease.
Prince Charles' eldest son, Prince Williams, has published a photo in which he and his grandmother and wife Kate are surrounded by greenery.
