The SPF Health and Sciensano announced on Thursday the death of 16 new people in Belgium because of the coronavirus. The country also has 19 hospitalizations in the last 24 hours.
To date, a total of 59,711 confirmed cases have been reported; 33,611 cases (56%) in Flanders, 18,913 (32%) cases in Wallonia, and 6,134 (10%) cases in Brussels. Data on place of residence were not available for 1,053 cases (2%).
142 new confirmed cases have been reported in the past 24 hours, including 6 in rest homes reported by the national platform. Among these 142 new cases, 78 (55%) were reported in Flanders, 34 (24%) in Wallonia, and 30 (21%) in Brussels.
