Based on confirmed cases of COVID-19 contamination, the United Kingdom has recorded an additional 204 deaths in the past 24 hours, for a total of 40,465 deaths

Including suspected cases, the death toll in the UK exceeded 50,000 this week, according to a Reuters count based on official data.
