The coronavirus pandemic has killed at least 775.00 people worldwide since the onset of the disease in late December, according to a report from official sources on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. In Morocco, the contamination report shows this Monday, August 17 at 6 p.m., 43,558 confirmed cases, 29,941 healings and 681 deaths.


Globally, more than 21,936,820 cases of infection have been officially diagnosed in 196 countries and territories since the start of the epidemic, of which at least 13,623,700 are now considered cured. On Monday, 4,233 new deaths and 220,645 new cases were recorded worldwide. The countries with the most new deaths in their latest reports are India with 876 new deaths, Brazil (684) and the United States (434).


The United States is the most affected country in terms of both deaths and cases, with 170,497 deaths for 5,438,325 cases, according to the Johns Hopkins University count. At least 1,865,580 people have been declared cured. After the United States, the countries most affected are Brazil with 108,536 deaths for 3,359,570 cases, Mexico with 57,023 deaths (525,733 cases), India with 51,797 deaths (2,702,742 cases), and the United Kingdom United with 41,369 deaths (319,197 cases).


Among the hardest hit countries, Belgium is the one that deplores the highest number of deaths in relation to its population, with 86 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Peru (80), Spain (61), the Kingdom United (61), and Italy (59). China has officially counted a total of 84,871 cases (22 new between Monday and Tuesday), including 4,634 deaths (0 new), and 79,642 recoveries.


Latin America and the Caribbean totaled 243,470 deaths for 6,225,679 cases on Tuesday at 11:00 am, Europe 210,978 deaths (3,562,495 cases), the United States and Canada 179,562 deaths (5,560,567 cases), Asia 81,738 deaths (4,080,157 cases), the Middle East 32,723 deaths (1,352,244 cases), Africa 25,890 deaths (1,129,613 cases), and Oceania 471 deaths (26,072 cases).
