The coronavirus pandemic has left no deaths in Spain in the past 24 hours, and for the second day in a row, the Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday.

The country, one of the most affected by the pandemic in the world, has recorded a total of 27,136 deaths and 241,966 cases confirmed by the coronavirus screening test known as PCR, up from 84 in 24 hours, it emerges from the data of the ministry. , which state that 50 deaths have been reported in the past seven days.

Of the total number of confirmed cases, 149 people were hospitalized in the past seven days, bringing the total number of hospitalizations to 124,407, while 11,614 patients were placed in intensive care, an additional 12.

Madrid remains by far the most affected autonomous community in the country, with 69,804 confirmed cases of contamination and 8,691 deaths, followed by Catalonia with 5,587 deaths and 59,232 confirmed cases.

The autonomous communities of Andalusia, Aragon, the Balearic Islands, Cantabria, the Valencian Community and Navarre have not recorded any Covid-19-related deaths in the past seven days, the ministry said.

About 52% of Spaniards (25 million people) started Monday the 3rd phase of the deconfinement plan, while the rest is in 2nd phase.

Spain’s “progressive” deconfinement plan, which began on May 4, has four phases, which are implemented at different rates in each region depending on the evolution of the epidemic.
