
8,336 people are still being treated in French hospitals for Covid-19 infection, four months after the start of the epidemic.
July begins with reassuring figures in hospitals after four months of coronavirus epidemic. According to the latest assessment from the Directorate General of Health, the health authorities have identified 18 new deaths linked to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. In total, France has counted 29,861 victims since the start of the epidemic on March 1.
Among these victims, 19,364 people were in hospital establishments and 10,497 in social and medico-social establishments. This report on mortality in Ehpad, now unveiled weekly, was announced Tuesday by the DGS and will be updated on July 8.
582 patients in intensive care
On the hospitalization front, 8,336 people are cared for in French establishments. In the past 24 hours, 106 new patients have been admitted. Among the hospitalized patients, 582 present a serious form of the disease which requires care in the intensive care units.
17 new serious cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours. The balance, which takes account of discharges, remains negative over the same period of time, with 20 fewer patients. Since the start of the epidemic, 104,713 people have been hospitalized, including 18,391 in intensive care, 76,549 people have returned home.
