MADRID, July 8 - Spanish health officials reported 257 new coronavirus infections on Wednesday in the past 24 hours, more than double the previous day.
The number of cases diagnosed in Spain since the start of the crisis now stands at 252,513 and the disease has killed 28,396. In the past seven days, nine people have died.
