Coronavirus: One day in the world

 

As of Monday, June 1, more than 6.2 million (6,229,408) cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) have been officially identified worldwide, according to a count by Johns Hopkins University which refers in matter. They are in all, 373,973 people to be died. Europe, is the continent most affected with more than a third 2,135,170 cases (177,595 dead) the United States, is the country most heavily affected and in the case of a large number of cases (1,799,747) and in death (104 702).

While the social climate has worsened in the United States from its riots in the last few days after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, the pandemic continues to spread. The official figures are even probably underestimated. However, deconfinement continues in the United States, with a desire to revive as soon as possible an economy that has been practically stopped by the epidemic.

However, it is in Latin America where the situation is worrying, and more particularly in Brazil, the fourth country most bereaved by the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) (29,314) and the second most affected nation (514,489). Other countries in South America are also seeing the virus spread, as in Peru, the second Latin American country most affected by the coronavirus (164,476 cases + 7,386 in 24 hours for 4,506 deaths). Mexico is the second Latin American country to be the most bereaved with nearly 10,000 deaths (9,930) in 90,664 cases.

Russia is the third country in the world most affected by the pandemic after the United States and Brazil. The country reports 9 268 new cases of coronavirus in 24 hours for a total of 414 878. According to the Russian health authorities, 138 people died in the last 24 hours, which gives a macabre total of 4855 people died.

In Asia, India (198,317 cases for 4,855 deaths) announced a significant relaxation of containment. From June 8, access to religious buildings, hotels, restaurants and shopping centers "will be allowed" despite the number of cases which continues to increase. Iran announced on Monday nearly 3,000 new infections and 81 deaths in the past 24 hours, the largest increase in two months. The country has 7,878 deaths and 154,445 reported cases, official figures to be taken with caution although reflecting an accelerating spread of the disease. China has reported 16 new cases, all imported from abroad, and there have been no deaths to date. The Middle Empire has a total of 84,150 cases and 4,638 dead.

While many European countries have started progressive deconfinement, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control has warned that Europe must prepare for a second wave of Coronavirus.

In Italy, the balance sheet drops again today. There are 60 more deaths in 24 hours (75 the day before), bringing the number of deaths to 33,475 since the start of the epidemic. The total number of cases recorded is 233,197, the country will open its borders on June 3. Spain has had no deaths in the past 24 hours. The death toll is now 27,127. The country now has more than 239,638 reported cases. Spain has decided to reopen its borders to tourists in late June and early July and the La Liga is scheduled to resume on June 11.
In France, the latest assessment provided by the health authorities shows 152,091 confirmed cases and 28,833 deaths in total. There have been 31 deaths in the last 24 hours in a hospital environment. France is buzzing it will be in Phase 2 deconfinement this June 2.
In the United Kingdom, the government has recorded 276,726 cases and 39,127 deaths in total. A fortnight is imposed for travelers. The country continues its deconfinement with the opening of schools on Monday. Gatherings of 6 people are now allowed. In Germany, the balance sheet is down sharply. The country has this Monday, June 1, May 183,594 cases identified for 8,555 deaths (+10).

The epidemic is growing in Africa but remains moderate. The continent counted this Monday June 1 147,099 confirmed cases of coronavirus. The Covid-19 has already claimed the lives of 4,228 people on the continent, according to the African Center for Disease Prevention and Control. The countries most affected by the epidemic are South Africa which has 34,357 cases listed on Monday and 705 (+40) dead, Egypt (26,384 cases per 1,005 deaths), Nigeria (10,162 cases for 287 deaths) and Algeria (9,513 cases for 661 deaths).
